AHM Safety Riding Park Established in 2020
To bring our traffic safety promotion activities to more people, we opened a AHM Safety Riding Park (Traffic Education Center) in Deltamas in 2020, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, with a total area of 21 acres.
The newly opened Traffic Education Center has a training course that provides motorcycle riding training for braking, balancing and turning, as well as a simulator room for participants to experience hazard prediction, and the Kids Traffic Park, where children can enjoy learning about traffic safety. Participants can receive a variety of training on safety riding.
Furthermore, the curriculum is designed to ensure efficient training by asking participants to complete a brief questionnaire before and after the training, so that they can understand the change in their own awareness of safety riding, which will lead to an improvement in their riding behavior.
In addition, we are working hard to promote public awareness of our
Traffic Education Center in collaboration with the government and the media. These efforts have successfully raised the safety awareness of the Indonesian people.
Safety Riding Promotion Activities at Dealerships
In 2002, PT Astra Honda Motor, jointly with all our motorcycle dealers, launched the slogan “One Heart” to express its desire to provide safety and enjoyable motorcycles.
Under this slogan, all of our 940 motorcycle dealers are using the Honda Riding Trainer to help customers experience the feeling of danger (in a safety environment) and also provide safety tips when they pay for services such as bike maintenance.
Furthermore, 148 safety riding instructors and 2,475 safety riding advisors are on staff at our motorcycle dealers, and riding schools and safety riding seminars are held regularly at each location.
Safety Riding Education Program Produced in Collaboration with Government Agencies
My most memorable activity was the development of a safety riding education program in collaboration with the National Traffic Police and the National Transportation Safety Committee. Both government agencies are responsible for dealing with traffic accidents that occur in Indonesia, as well as analyzing the causes and other aspects of the accidents. In this project, the two government agencies along with PT Astra Honda Motor worked together to collect and analyze accident data to create the program.
This program was aimed at riders and was intended for education on the three major causes of accidents in Indonesia: overtaking, unsafety distance between vehicles and inattention to the road ahead.
I believe that this kind of collaboration on an ongoing basis will enable effective traffic safety promotion activities and ultimately lead to a reduction in traffic fatalities, so we will continue to work actively to achieve this goal.
