Social Media Terms of Use

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Honda") has established the following terms of use for social media (hereinafter referred to as "Terms of Use").

1. General Provisions

  • “Social media” in Terms of Use refers to various social networking services such as X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, LINE, Linkedin, TikTok, and YouTube, and includes services provided in conjunction with or related to such social media accounts.
  • These Terms of Use apply to social media users (hereinafter referred as “User(s)”) who view and use the social media accounts established, managed, and operated by Honda (hereinafter referred as “"Official Account(s)"), as well as the postings and other information transmitted by these accounts.
  • Please use the Official Accounts only after reading and agreeing to the Terms of Use.
  • Please note that when a User registers ("follow," "add," "register channel," etc.) or uses ("quote," "share," etc.) information posted or otherwise transmitted by the Official Accounts, the User is deemed to have agreed to these Terms of Use.

2. Disclaimers

  • Honda shall have no obligation to guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information posted on the Official Accounts.
  • Honda shall have no obligation to any damages arising from the use of or inability to use an Official Account by a User.
  • Honda does not warrant the continued operation of the Official Accounts, and Honda may suspend the operation of an Official Account or delete an Official Account without prior notice. In such cases, Honda will not be liable for any damages incurred by the User.
  • Honda shall have no obligation to any content posted by Users quoting content from the Official Account.
  • Honda may delete posts on the Official Account without prior notice. In such cases, Honda shall have no obligation to any damages incurred by the User.
  • Honda shall have no obligation to any troubles or disputes that may occur between Users or between Users and third parties in relation to the Official Accounts.
  • Honda shall have no obligation to disclose any Honda operation manuals, response standards, etc. related to the Official Accounts.
  • The Official Accounts are operated by the systems of the companies that operate the social media. Honda is therefore unable to provide any information regarding the operation status of the system of each Social Media company. In addition, Honda is unable to answer any questions regarding the functionality of the Social Media, the functionality of software or applications provided by each company or third party, usage instructions, or technical questions.

3. Prohibited Acts

The following acts or similar acts are prohibited on the Official Accounts.
If Honda judges that a User's conduct falls under any of the following, it may, without prior notice to the User, take necessary measures such as hiding comments, blocking the account, requesting deletion, claiming compensation for damages, and other necessary measures. In addition, if a User causes damage to a third party through the use of an Official Account, the User shall be responsible for resolving the matter at the User's own responsibility and expense.

  • Any act that constitutes obscenity or child pornography
  • Posting information or photos of illegal modifications or dangerous driving/riding
  • Postings that incite a third party, such as starting a flame war or boycott campaign
  • Postings that announce criminal acts or acts offensive to public order and morals.
  • Postings that identify, disclose, or leak personal information without the consent of the person concerned
  • Postings that defame or slander, or may defame or slander Honda or a third party
  • Postings that are intended for political or religious activities, such as soliciting support for or membership in an individual or a specific organization (religious group, political organization, etc.)
  • Postings that infringe on the copyrights, portrait rights, intellectual property rights, or other rights of Honda or any third party
  • Postings that impersonate another User or a third party
  • Postings that are intended for affiliate, advertising, or promotional purposes
    (including sites outside of the Social Media sites that are affiliate sites, advertisements, or promotions, except in cases where Honda has consigned or otherwise authorized such sites)
  • Postings that constitute misconduct as defined by the Social Media companies.
  • Postings that are significantly different from the information disclosed by Honda
  • Postings of other content that are against the law or public order and morals, or that Honda reasonably deems inappropriate.

4. Treatment of Intellectual Property

  • Honda own the copyright (including the rights stipulated in Articles 27 and 28 of the Copyright Act.) of all information posted to an Official Account by Honda, and the User shall not use such information without the consent of Honda beyond the scope permitted by the Copyright Act and other related laws and regulations.
  • The User owns the copyright of information posted by the User on the Official Accounts. However, by posting information to an Official Account, the User grants Honda the right to use such information worldwide on a free and nonexclusive basis. The User also agrees not to exercise his/her moral rights (as defined in Articles 18 through 20 of the Copyright Act) against Honda with respect to such information.

5. Replying to Postings and Comments

  • Honda shall have no obligation to respond to all comments and direct messages (DMs) to an Official Account.
  • Postings and comments made by Users are deemed to be information that the Users themselves have agreed to disclose and make public, and Honda may store, reproduce, record, edit, use, post, and publish such information in various media.

6. Access to User Information

When a User registers for an Official Account, he/she is deemed to have granted access to the User's publicly available account and profile information, including User name, profile photo, gender, network, User ID, and friends list.


7. Handling of Personal Information

Honda will manage the personal information of the User collected using appropriate methods in accordance with Honda's Privacy Policy.


8. Revisions of these Terms of Use

Honda may change these Terms of Use at any time without the consent of the User. In such case, the revised Terms of Use shall come into effect when they are posted or displayed on this page, or when Honda publicly announces them by other means, and thereafter the User is subject to the amended Terms of Use.

10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed according under the laws of Japanese Laws and Regulations, and the Users consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
