Whoa nice! Let's get the owner's manual out of the bike...

Wow, the owner's manual is so thick, I'm surprised!
I don't know where I can find desired things!

It can't be helped, since it's a premium bike with lots of functions. I'll teach you the basics of the manual!
1.Select Contents from what you want to find

First, Please think about where you can find the information you want.
Look at the table of contents at the beginning and think about which section the information you're looking for.
For example... what if you want to find out what type of switch this is?

This is something to operate... Operation Guide?

Oh, you‘re right! If you have any look for, first look for them in the table of contents!
If you're not sure which table of contents you're looking for, refer to the table below!
Itemized and roughly written content
・Vehicle Safety ・・・Precautions in using the vehicle/meaning of the image label
・Operation Guide ・・・Vehicle operation methods and procedures
・Maintenance ・・・Method and frequency of vehicle maintenance
・Troubleshooting ・・・How to deal with problems and warning indicator signs when there is a problem
・Information ・・・Information on the mechanisms equipped the vehicle, precautions, regulation, washing, storage and transport methods, etc.
・Specifications ・・・Vehicle specification values
*Depending on your vehicle, the description may vary.
2.Getting from ‘’contents’’ to reach the in-detail contents

Thanks! I looked at it right away from the Operation Guide, opened the first Parts Location page and looked at it, but there's no arrow written on the switch?

Don't panic. Keep an eye on the ‘’title‘’ at the top of the page. Keep turning the pages!

I found page about Instruments!
It doesn't look like it's mentioned here either…

Turn the page again... Ah! The Switch page!
There it is, This is Favourite Switch!

Congratulations!
Like you just did, please break down what you want to know and think about where it's written.
It'll make it easier to find.
It's a bit of a page-turner though...
By the way, the table below shows the structure of the operation guide.
Order and content of descriptions in the Operation Guide
Parts Location: Location and reference of main parts.
Instruments: Meter configuration & display contents
Indicators: Meaning of warning and indicator lights and what to do about them.
Switches: the respective functions of the steering wheel switches.
Other: describes how to deal with vehicle functions.
*The contents may differ depending on your vehicle.

Thank you! Now I can look for it properly!
3.Easier ways to make use of the service information

It is too hard to find the information from book.
Because there are so many pages!
Don't you have a better way?

That's good question! There's a good way to do it.
Have you heard of a website called Motopub?
It's a site where you can find Owner’s manuals in electronic format, with a keyword search function, and a table of contents that's more detailed than a printed book.
It has a more detailed table of contents than a printed book, so you can get to the page you want faster!
There is a QR code on the back cover of the OM, which can also be scanned to access the website.

* Depending on your country, the service may not be available.

That website would have helped if you had told me sooner!
How do i use it?

Please see this article for a previous explanation of how to use it.

Thanks!
I'm going to read the owner's manual from cover to cover on the Motopub and become an Africa Twin doctor!
I just bought Africa Twin!!
It's a vehicle with a lot of features and functions,
so, I'm going to make use of them and enjoy the bike!
I'll have to take the time to read the owner's manual for that!
