Honda Exhibits at Japan International Boat Show 2024

Honda exhibited its marine products at the Honda booth during the Japan International Boat Show 2024 held at Pacifico Yokohama and Yokohama Bayside Marina in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture from Thursday, March 21 to Sunday, March 24, 2024.

A wide range of marine products were exhibited, from various outboard motors to electric propulsion prototypes.

Honda’s flagship BF350 outboard motor, just launched in February, attracted a lot of attention at the Honda booth. Visitors were impressed by the Grand Prix White and Aquamarine Silver Metallic BF350s on display at the front of the booth, snapping photos as they walked by.

The electric propulsion prototype and portable battery (Honda Mobile Power Pack e:) displays next to the booth also attracted many questions.

Many outboard motors were also on display. 12 models were exhibited. (BF350, BF250, and BF150 large outboard motors, BF100, BF90, BF60, BF50, and BF30 mid-sized outboard motors, and BF20, BF9.9, BF6, and BF2 small outboard motors)

The BF90 was mounted on a Japanese-style boat built by Ohashi Shipbuilding, and the BF2 was displayed mounted on a compact mini-boat, allowing visitors to experience the appeal of the marine lifestyle offered by Honda outboard motors.

Exhibit Featuring the World of Honda’s Flagship BF350 was Popular

Honda’s flagship BF350 is a hot model that just went on sale in February. A total of four units, two each in silver and white, were on display, mounted on a European-style pleasure boat and a walk-around boat manufactured by Sano Shipyard. The background presentation of large panels with images of Italy and Greece was well received, and many visitors took pictures of the display, saying, “It looks like Europe.” The display, which expressed the world of elegant marine leisure in Southern Europe, was well received by visitors.

Electric Propulsion Prototype Exhibit Appealing Wide Usage of Honda’s Portable Batteries Grabs Visitors’ Attention

The Honda booth also displayed a prototype electric propulsion system that is currently being tested in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. Visitors asked questions about the prototype on display while watching a video of a Horikawa sightseeing boat powered by an electric propulsion system, and were interested in this future source of power on the water. The EM1 e: electric scooter, which uses the Mobile Power Pack e:, was also on display, giving visitors a sense of Honda’s commitment to carbon neutrality in various fields.

Max Factory × Honda Fourth Model Production Confirmed for “Minori with Honda Outboard Motor BF350”

On the first day of the Japan International Boat Show, figure and plastic model maker Max Factory announced the production of a plastic model of Honda’s flagship BF350 outboard motor. At the Honda booth, a prototype of this BF350 plastic model was on display, attracting attention from marine fans as well as others.

This is the fourth collaboration between Max Factory and Honda, following “Minori with Honda Tiller F90,” “Inaho with HONDA F90 Paddy Wheel,” and “Minori with Honda Small Snow Plow HSS1170n,” and will be available for pre-order from May.
