Head light / Turn signals

It's getting dark outside. This time, I'm going to talk about "head light".

There are many types of head light. Hmm?

You're right, mine uses LED. There are other types motorcycle using "halogen bulb", this case you can easily replace the bulb.

…Ok?

Now, I'm going to ask you one question!
There is a type of head light that works as high beam and low beam with only one bulb. Can you imagine of how it switches over?

I have no idea…

This is how it works!

These spiral wires lightning changes depending on high or low.

That's right!
When this spiral wire is cut, the bulb is out! When either high or low beam is out, it's the time to replace the bulb!

Doctor!
As far as I remember, if you replace wrong type of bulb, it won't work properly. Am I right?

You're right!
If you put higher-wattage bulbs, lenses could get damaged. On the other hand, when you put lower-wattage bulbs, turn signals work like this.

Oh, I didn't know that.

The bulb is an expendable part. You don't have to be worried as long as you do "pre-ride inspection" of your motorcycle, and replace bulbs at a Honda dealer when it is out!
