Boston Marathon was a good course for me because I feel strong on hills, especially uphills. The conditions made it a little extra challenging with the rain on the big uphills in the latter part of the course, but I’m grateful to have had a strong race and I felt very good in my Honda racer!

I am grateful for Honda support not only inventing the best racing chair that I always wanted and finally got, but also their support during the race. It's great to be a part of Honda family. I feel really honored.
Thank you so much!

I was so fortunate yesterday with warm conditions (but not too hot) and a tailwind for a lot of the race.
Both of these helped me to carry a lot of speed up and down the first hill. This allowed me to make a gap with the group and I just tried to go as far as I could the rest of the way.
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful support!!

I’m so thankful to Honda for supporting me and enabling me to have gotten back to training so quickly last February!
I felt a lot of fatigue during yesterday’s Chicago Marathon but had held a course record pace long enough to create a sizable gap at the beginning of the race. I’m thankful I had just enough strength to maintain it and come through with my first major marathon win.
Of course, I missed having Manuela there and hope to get to race with her in New York next month and hopefully have another win.

I pushed with Catherine Debrunner until the 5k when we took a steep downhill. I slowed down here and lost Catherine who took the hill faster. I hoped I could catch up and tried very hard to, but she was incredibly strong and I put everything I had to also have a strong race for 2nd. I felt very strong and am excited to have one more chance in Chicago next weekend.

I am very happy with my second place after a difficult year. The Women’s field has improved so much in the past few months. I was watching from the side how Susannah-san and Catherine-san raced several world records and world best times this year so my plan for Berlin was to keep up with them as long as possible. I am glad I could stay with them until the finish.

I felt very strong and good during the Berlin Marathon. Fortunately, I was able to push the race with two strong women (Manuela Shär and Catherine Debrunner) and we worked together until the very end! I was unable to outsprint them, but am hoping to have a good finish in London and Chicago now.
