Abstract
iston pin behavior was measured on occurrence of conspicuous piston pin noise when using a semi-floating support system, and oil behavior around the piston pin was visualized.Piston pin behavior was measured by the linkage method using a gap sensor. This clarified the behavior of the piston pin using a semi-floating support system when the noise occurred.Visualization of the oil behavior was performed by the linkage method using optical fiber. Particle images of oil droplets were captured with a high-speed camera. Processing those images with particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) successfully vectorized the oil behavior inside the engine.
