- With the advancement of electric vehicle (EV) performance, the increasing number of electrical components required to connect various power devices has led to issues such as higher part count, weight, and cost. This research introduces a novel power unit that integrates all power conversion functions within the drive motor and inverter. This unit not only combines AC regular charging and rapid DC charging functions but also enhances drive output and efficiency compared to conventional systems by changing motor winding connections. By developing such an integrated power unit, we aim to improve EV performance while reducing costs. This paper reports on the operating systems of the integrated power unit and the results of actual machine verification, demonstrating the successful integration of AC and DC charging into the motor drive system and paving the way for more compact and efficient EV designs.

- As electric vehicle (EV) performance continues to improve, the growing number of power converters necessary for connecting various power devices has introduced challenges such as increased part count, weight, and cost. In response to these challenges, this paper proposes a novel motor drive system that integrates AC and DC charging required for EVs. This system composed with Two-phase motor and H-bridge inverter. In the AC charging test, the power factor was 99.5%. In the DC charging test, the output voltage was controlled to be twice that of the input voltage by using the motor as an energy storage element. These results prove that it is possible to integrate AC and DC charging into the motor drive system, potentially leading to more compact and efficient EV designs.

- In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the global environment, and the development of electric vehicles (EVs) is actively being pursued to achieve carbon neutrality as a society. One of the challenges in the widespread adoption of EVs is the increase in weight and cost due to the installation of power converters required to connect to various power infrastructures. Therefore, the development of integrated power units that combine these power converters is being advanced. When integrating charging functions, one of the challenges is the increase in torque ripple due to the two-phase motor configuration. Additionally, high-power testing for charging has not been conducted. This paper presents the results of performance improvement tests of a power unit with integrated power conversion functions during motor drive, as well as the results of high-power testing for DC fast charging aimed at practical implementation in vehicles.
