Intelligent System Using Beacon Model for Autonomous Wheelchair

Abstract

The system proposed is an intelligent system for autonomous wheelchairs using Bluetooth low energy beacons. A beacon model for estimating wheelchair position is generated by applying machine learning to received signal strength indicators from the Bluetooth low energy beacons. This beacon model reduces response lag for autonomous locomotion control, resulting in smooth driving and improving the destination arrival rate.
