July: Honda launched the EX5000/ES6000 powered by a newly developed 359cc, water-cooled, 4-stroke, 2-cylinder OHC (overhead camshaft) engine that achieved thorough noise reduction, excellent fuel economy, and improved durability in order to achieve the quietness required in crowded residential areas and night-time construction, reduce operating costs, and improve durability.

January: Despite its small and lightweight design, the EX750 had a high output of 750 watts (60HZ) and could operate with low noise.

March: Honda launched 3 models of compact, lightweight, high-output generators 1200X/1500X/2000X and 5 types of EB1200X/EMEB1500X/EMEB2000X generators powered by newly designed engines with OHV (overhead valve) mechanism.

March: Honda launched a multi-purpose generator that can perform 4 functions in 1 unit, with electrical output of 3-phase AC 200 volts <5KVA>, auxiliary output single-phase AC 100 volts <500VA>, and by selecting the wiring method of the 3-phase AC output terminal <land terminal>, single-phase AC 200 volts <5KVA> or single-phase AC 115 volts <5KVA>.

March: The EW170 could generate a welding current of 170 amperes DC, which is enough to use a 4mm welding rod for the widely used welding work, and as a generator, The EW170 could generate an output of 4 kilovolt amperes (single-phase AC 100 volts), which is one of the largest in its class.

July: Powered by a new engine with low noise and low vibration. Adoption of an OHV (overhead valve) system improves intake and exhaust efficiency, and combined with the ideal combustion chamber design, achieved high output and excellent fuel economy.

October: Powered by a forced air-cooled 4-stroke engine (G100K1) that is quiet and durable. In addition, by adopting a capacitor-compensated generator, the EC550 produces a generous output of 100 volts AC and a rated output of 550 watts (60 Hz), providing excellent maneuverability for equipment that requires instantaneous power such as power tools, and provides high-quality electricity with little voltage fluctuation and unevenness.

December: A soundproof 2-kilowatt class generator that is extremely quiet, lightweight, and convenient to carry. This generator is as quiet as 55 decibels (at 50Hz) and is the lightest in its class at 69 kg (dry weight). For this reason, the EX2000 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including work in densely populated residential areas, nighttime work, emergency and leisure power supplies, and exhibits great mobility at work sites.
