TOKYO, Japan, March 9, 2026 - Repsol Honda HRC rider Toni Bou (Spain, 39 years old) has won the 2026 FIM* X-Trial World Championship. He has clinched his 20th consecutive title, extending his own record, in Round 8 in Chalon sur Saone, France, held on March 6.

X-Trials (indoor trials) are held in stadiums covering man-made obstacle courses. The 2026 season was contested over ten rounds, in which Repsol Honda HRC’s Toni Bou endeavored to ride his Montesa COTA 4RT HRC factory bike to an unprecedented 20th consecutive championship title.
In the 2026 season, which began in October 2025, Bou claimed back-to-back victories in the opening rounds in Andorra and Madrid. Although he finished second in Round 3 (France), he maintained the overall championship lead. He then secured four consecutive wins across the two rounds in Italy, followed by victories in the United Kingdom and Spain, steadily building momentum. At Round 8 in France, he delivered another consistent performance to take the win. His teammate Gabriel Marcelli (Spain, 26 years old) finished second, marking the team’s fifth one-two finish of the season and adding further distinction to a milestone 20th consecutive title. Without relinquishing the championship lead at any point, Bou secured the series title with two rounds remaining, thanks to his points advantage over second-placed Gabriel Marcelli.
Bou has achieved not only success in X-Trial but also 19 consecutive titles in the outdoor FIM Trial World Championship (TrialGP). With this achievement, he has moved within reach of his ultimate goal: 40 consecutive titles combined across TrialGP and X-Trial.

“I’m very happy with how the race went. Winning the title is always very special. It’s been a different season for me, as I’ve had to work incredibly hard with my shoulder injury. I’m proud and grateful to everyone who has helped me, because it’s been a tough season. So far, we’ve won every race but one, and that’s something I never imagined achieving in 2026. It’s one of the titles I’m most proud to have won.”
Takahisa Fujinami | Repsol Honda HRC Manager
“First of all, I’d like to congratulate Toni on his latest world title. This season he’s done an incredible job, despite all the difficulties and not being in peak physical condition. He’s demonstrated his immense talent once again, and what he’s achieved is unbelievable. I also want to thank Honda, HRC, and the sponsors, because without them this wouldn’t be possible.”
