Tokyo, February 6, 1997 -- As another step in the conti nuous development of
the NSX, Honda introduces today a new 6-s peed manual transmission NSX
equipp ed wit h a lar ger, 3.2-l it er engi ne. The li ne-u p is furt her enhanced by the
introducti on of a new sporti er "Typ e S" vers ion. This new NSX will be available at
Honda Verno dealers nati onwide sta rti ng February 7, 1997.
Wit h the presen t model change, Honda introduces a new, lar ger 3.2-l it er engi ne
exclus ivel y matched to a new 6-speed manual transmission. In the meanti me,
models equipp ed wit h an automati c transmission see their F-mati c transmission
upg raded to bet er use the advantages provided by the electron ic Drive By Wire
(DBW) control of the throt le, fo r even smoother gear sh ift s.
All models are furt her equipp ed wit h lar ger brakes and improved suspension
seti ngs, while the ℃ ustom Order Plan" is being developed into it 's present
Stage 6. Finall y, a more dr iver-oriented vers ion of the NSX is added to the lineup
in the form of the new, sporti er "T yp e S".

The Type S introduced this time boasts a weight reduction of some 45 kgs
wtihouth avingto s acrifice the comfortas sociated wtiha ir-conditioninga nd other
items. The car features specific suspension setings as well as revised steering
wheel and shift knob designs. A more specifically circuit-oriented Type S-Zero
version isa lso partof th e presentlin e-up.

power steering. This type S-Zero also boasts specific suspension tuning,
making ti the perfectba se for tuningp urposes.
