Two-Pronged Approach: Awareness-Building Activities and In-Vehicle Technologies

What Honda Values

Education and awareness to foster a safety mindset and improve skills, and in-vehicle technologies to support riders. Through this two-pronged approach, we continue to support the safety of riders and those around them.

Info

Making Safe Riding Second Nature

Honda believes that people are the foundation of traffic safety. This includes the ability to perceive and judge surrounding conditions to predict risks, an awareness of traffic rules, and consideration for other road users.

To help riders develop the ability to think for themselves and voluntarily choose safe actions, Honda has focused on safe riding education and awareness-building activities.

Since the establishment of the Driving Safety Promotion Center in 1970, for over half a century, we have been providing hands-on, participatory training worldwide. This training, tailored to different regions and age groups, allows participants to safely experience potential dangers and learn safety skills directly from instructors.

Giving Shape to Technologies that Support Riding

Honda has continuously improved the performance of its mobility products with an approach that considers every stage, from before to after a collision.

This includes not only technology to protect people in the event of a collision, but also technology to detect risks early to help avoid dangerous situations and to assist with evasive maneuvers when necessary.

Guided by our founder's desire to use technology to help people and our history of sincerely pursuing safety, we will continue to give shape to technologies that support riding.

A Phased Approach

Our Approach to Safety

Honda prioritizes protecting people at every stage—before encountering a collision risk, when facing a collision risk, and in the unfortunate event of a collision—supporting riders with the most suitable methods for each situation.

Accident Prevention

We help reduce risks while riding through traffic safety education, such as holding safety schools and promoting awareness-building activities at motorcycle dealerships, as well as through rider awareness support using lighting and external environment recognition technologies.
