Supported Activities at Formula SAE Japan 2026

Formula SAE Japan 2026 (organizer: Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan) was held at Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi Prefecture International Exhibition Center) over six days from August 2 to 7, 2026. At this competition, teams composed of students designed and built racing cars and then competed comprehensively in areas including vehicle performance, planning ability, and technical skills. Every year, Honda and many other automotive-related companies supply these student teams with gasoline engines and EV power units, offer them technical advice, and provide other forms of support.

Honda R&D also dispatched engineers to this event to assist in the evaluation and operation of the competition as judges and event staff in areas such as design, vehicle, and dynamic inspections. In this way, they directly supported the technical challenges undertaken by the participating students. One of the engineers who participated remarked that, “Communicating with students and staff from other companies was highly stimulating.” This meant the event also served as an opportunity for the engineers themselves to grow.
