In 1987, Honda began supplying engines to Lotus,
with Ayrton Senna driving a Honda-powered car,
and teammate Satoru Nakajima making his debut as the first Japanese driver in F1.
Although the 1.5-liter turbo engines were
subject to stricter boost pressure regulations,
Honda dominated the F1 scene even more than the previous year,
and Williams won both titles.
