Honda realized the need to review
its basic specifications as it gained experience in F1,
and introduced the RA165E, commonly known as the “E-spec,”
at the Canadian GP in June.
This engine, which had been thoroughly redesigned as a race engine,
won all three of the last races in the 1985 season.
