First Pole, Developed Ambitious Air-Cooled RA302

In 1968, Honda was determined to win
with the lighter and even more powerful RA301.
Although it was fast, the RA301 was plagued by reliability issues,
finishing only four races despite claiming Honda’s first pole position.
The air-cooled RA302 was also disappointing,
and Honda announced that it would cease
its F1 activities at the end of the year.
