Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the first half of the current fiscal year (April 2019-March 2020) and the month of September 2019.

Production in regions outside of Japan for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in eight years.

Production worldwide for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the eighth consecutive year.

September 2019

Production in Japan for the month of September 2019 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in six months.

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in two months.

World production experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive month.

Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive year.

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in two years.

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive year.

September 2019

Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of September 2019 experienced a year-on-year increase for the sixth consecutive month.

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the sixth consecutive month.

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the sixth consecutive month.

<Vehicle registrations - excluding mini-vehicles>

FREED was the industry’s ninth best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of September 2019 with sales of 8,107 units.

<Mini-vehicles - under 660cc>

N-BOX was the industry’s top-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of September 2019 with sales of 28,484 units.
