Honda held “Honda 0 Tech Meeting 2024” on October 2 to 5, 2024 and introduced its initiatives for the development and production of “Honda 0 Series” EVs, scheduled to be launched in 2026. This time, we will explain our development approach and the major technologies mentioned in that event, and production technologies for mass production.
For the development of automobiles, Honda, in pursuit of carbon neutrality for all its products and corporate activities in 2050, is in the process of developing the “Honda 0 Series” that has entirely new EV value towards the period of EV popularization. We plan to introduce seven models globally by 2030, including small to medium and large size vehicles, starting with a market launch in the North America in 2026.
Under the determination to create completely new EVs from zero by recollecting the origin of Honda’s vehicle manufacturing, “Honda 0 Series” has been worked on with the aim of turning over the conventional concept of EVs with its development approach “Thin, Light and Wise.” As the embodiment of this, the series will offer five core values: “Artistic design that resonates with people,” “Automated Driving/Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (AD/ADAS) that ensures safety and peace of mind,” “New value of EV as a “space” for people made possible by the internet of things (IoT) and connected technologies,” “The joy of driving with the feeling of oneness with the vehicle,” and “Outstanding electricity efficiency performance.”
