Taking Memories Home: Honda Power Products at Enjoy Honda

Enjoy Honda is an event aimed at letting visitors see, play, and experience the appeal of Honda’s motorcycles, automobiles, power products, and motorsports. Now in its 23rd year, this event offers a chance for visitors to experience Honda for the first time.

See, play, and experience Honda at Enjoy Honda

Enjoy Honda is an event where visitors can see, play, and experience not only Honda products such as motorcycles, automobiles, and power products, but everything Honda, including Honda’s various activities such as motorsports. The event attracts a wide range of visitors, including families.

At Enjoy Honda, visitors can experience motorsports-related exhibits and activities, as well as hands-on sessions featuring Honda’s cutting-edge technologies, such as the UNI-CUB, and visit the Honda Access Co., Ltd. booth to see the genuine accessories for Honda automobiles they develop and sell. Enjoy Honda is an event where visitors can see, play, and experience all things Honda. Additionally, the event features a wide variety of gourmet offerings, including curry udon [noodles] from the Honda employee cafeteria and local dishes from the host city. An official shop also sells a wide range of Honda-related automobile, motorcycle, and power products themed merchandise. Furthermore, there are booths designed for children to enjoy, such as the HondaJet Fluffy Balloon and Kids Mechanic Experience booths.

Among the various booths at Enjoy Honda, the Power Products booth stands out. Titled “The World of Honda Power Products,” the Power Products booth is designed along the theme of “See, Play, and Experience,” as well as the concept of “Taking memories home.” The booth invites visitors to see, play, and experience Honda's power products, not typically seen or used in everyday life, and encourages visitors to take these memories home with them.

Photo Spot

On entering the Honda Power Products booth, visitors are greeted with a Photo Spot zone where they can take selfies of operating a ride-on lawn mower at a soccer stadium, driving a tiller in a farm field, or operating a snowplow in a snowy mountain, and take these memories home. Here, many visitors, especially families, enjoy taking selfies and sharing them on social media or taking them home.

The Photo Spot zone, where visitors can take selfies of operating Honda Power Products, is especially popular with families.

The Miimo Demo zone features the Honda’s Miimo robotic lawn mower, surrounded by fences and designed to resemble a grassy lawn. Many young children sit in front of the fences, intently watching Miimo moving around. Some children even chase Miimo around. This demo zone naturally brings smiles to the faces of many visitors as they watch Miimo in action.

Racing bike rider Osamu Deguchi, staffing the Miimo demo zone, was surprised by the number of visitors interested in the robotic lawn mower, and the many questions they asked. He focused on explaining the practical aspects of using Miimo, such as how to use it and how to handle cut grass, rather than its mechanical details.

The Honda generator and power source zone attracts a wide range of visitors, reflecting the growing interest in these products for outdoor leisure activities and as emergency power sources during disasters. This zone includes the EU9i Enepo, which generates power using gas canisters, the portable generators EU18i and EU26i, and the high-output generators EU28is and EU55is, along with the E500 Lib-Aid power source.

Being able to see, touch, and experience so many generators and power storage units all at once is one of the charms of Enjoy Honda.

At the generator and power source zone, All Japan Road Race Championship racing bike rider Satoru Iwata explains the differences between generators and power sources, as well as the electrical appliances compatible with the Lib-Aid power source.

“I was impressed that visitors asking questions about power sources and generators were quite knowledgeable. When someone asked about parallel operation to increase output by connecting generators, I had to comment on their deep understanding.” (Satoru Iwata)

The Honda outboard motor BF350 makes a strong impression at the Power Products booth. Also on display are the HSS1170n snowblower and the FU655 tiller.

These three models are displayed alongside the “Minori with Honda Outboard Motor BF350” and “Minori with Honda Small Snow Plow HSS1170n” plastic models sold by Max Factory, and the “Tomica FU655” sold by Tomy Company Ltd.

At the plastic model / Tomica zone, Max Factory staff conduct demonstrations on weekends on how to build the plastic models.

All Japan Road Race Championship rider Kazuki Ito, providing assistance to visitors at the plastic model and Tomica zone said, “Enjoy Honda is busy with many visitors, but I am having a great time talking with many Honda fans. Please come to Enjoy Honda.”

At the Enjoy Honda Power Products booth, visitors are handed cards with QR codes linking to the Honda Power Products website to find the keyword hidden in this article. By showing this keyword on their smartphone to the staff, visitors receive a plastic model with moving parts of the EU9i Enepo, supervised by Max Factory, and a decal featuring Honda Power Products.

This gift follows the Power Products booth concept of “taking memories home.” Many visitors to Enjoy Honda own motorcycles or cars at home, but few currently own Honda Power Products.
Honda hopes to deliver the first Honda Power Product to these homes and spark an interest in Honda’s activities beyond motorcycles and automobiles.
