Honda Teams to Compete in “Coca-Cola” Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race 47th Tournament
TOKYO, JAPAN, May 11, 2026 - Honda has determined the main Honda teams that will compete in the 2026 FIM*1 Endurance World Championship “Coca-Cola” Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race 47th Tournament (Suzuka 8 Hours), to be held at Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture on Sunday, July 5.
Honda HRC will aim for its fifth consecutive victory. The team will compete with a three-rider lineup of Takumi Takahashi, Johann Zarco, and Jonathan Rea, who serves as a test rider for Honda HRC in the FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK). Takahashi claimed his fourth consecutive Suzuka 8 Hours victory last year, extending his record for the most Suzuka 8 Hours wins by a single rider to seven. This year, he will once again lead the team while aiming to further extend that record. Zarco, who currently competes in the FIM Road Racing World Championship MotoGP class with CASTROL Honda LCR, will aim for his third consecutive Suzuka 8 Hours victory. Rea, who returns to the Suzuka 8 Hours for the first time since 2022, will aim for his third overall victory.
SDG Team HARC-PRO. Honda will compete with a three-rider lineup consisting of Yuki Kunii, who competes in the JSB1000 class of the MFJ*2 All Japan Road Race Championship; Teppei Nagoe, who competes in the ST1000 class of the same championship; and Keito Abe, who competes in the Asia Superbike 1000 class of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship.
F.C.C. TSR Honda France, which competes in the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), has won the EWC title twice. The team is currently 10th overall after the opening round of this year’s championship and will aim for a podium finish with its regular three-rider lineup of Alan Techer, Corentin Perolari, and John McPhee.
Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo, which competes in the Asia Superbike 1000 class of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, will enter with a three-rider lineup of Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, who competed last year, joined by Md. Adenanta Putra and Khairul Idham Pawi.

#30 Honda HRC
Takumi Takahashi (Saitama, Japan, 36 years old)
I will compete in the Suzuka 8 Hours again this year as a member of Honda HRC. For me, it is also an opportunity to challenge for a fifth consecutive victory, and it is a great honor as a rider to stand on such a stage. This year, I will compete alongside Zarco, my winning partner from last year, and Rea, a WSBK champion rider, in a strong three-rider lineup. I will do my best to achieve a fifth consecutive victory, and I hope everyone will continue to give Honda HRC their passionate support.
Johann Zarco (France, 35 years old)
I am truly happy to return to the Suzuka 8 Hours again this year as a member of Honda HRC. Winning last year’s eight-hour race was a special honor for me, and I will give everything I have again this year to aim for the top step of the podium. In addition to Takumi, Rea, a highly experienced and reliable rider, will join us as a new teammate this year. I am confident that we can become an even stronger team. I look forward to seeing everyone at Suzuka.
Jonathan Rea (United Kingdom, 38 years old)
I am sincerely happy to return once again to this historic eight-hour endurance race as a Honda HRC rider. I am also proud to compete as part of a team that has achieved the outstanding feat of four consecutive victories. Although it has been some time since I last competed in an eight-hour race, there is no doubt about the potential of the CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP at Suzuka Circuit. Together with Takumi and Zarco, I will give everything to take victory.
#73 SDG Team HARC-PRO. Honda
Yuki Kunii (Tokyo, Japan, 23 years old)
I am very happy to compete again this year with SDG Team HARC-PRO. Honda. Last season, we were in contention for the podium but ultimately finished fourth, which made it a frustrating Suzuka 8 Hours. However, I feel that we have used that experience to come back even stronger this season. The entire team will unite toward the same goal, fight with everything we have until the end, and aim for the podium. Thank you for your support!
Teppei Nagoe (Tokyo, Japan, 28 years old)
I am very happy to compete in the Suzuka 8 Hours again this year with SDG Team HARC-PRO. Honda. Last year, thanks to the excellent riding of my teammates and the team’s extensive experience, we were able to fight for the podium until the end. This year, I will fulfill my role and give everything to make sure we stand on the podium that we narrowly missed last year. Thank you for your support.
Keito Abe (Tokyo, Japan, 22 years old)
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at the team and to all of our sponsors for giving me the opportunity to compete in the Suzuka 8 Hours again this year as a member of SDG Team HARC-PRO. Honda. This will be my second year competing in the EWC class, and as we will take on the challenge with the same members as last year, I am confident that we can build the machine with even stronger teamwork. I want to make up for the frustration we felt last year and achieve the best possible result. Unlike my regular competition in the Asia Road Racing Championship, this is a valuable opportunity to race in front of Japanese fans, and I am looking forward to it. Thank you for your support.
#5 F.C.C. TSR Honda France
Alan Techer (France, 31 years old)
I am very excited. The team is based near Suzuka Circuit, which is also Honda’s circuit, so the Suzuka 8 Hours is a race with special meaning. It is also an extremely important race for Honda, with Honda HRC competing, while we are also fighting in the championship. My major goal is to bring the CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP to the top level and achieve the best possible result at this circuit.
Corentin Perolari (France, 28 years old)
I am looking forward to riding at Suzuka again in the first test in early May. A large part of the circuit has been resurfaced, so I am excited, and I also have a strong desire to achieve a good result in Japan. This year’s machine has evolved in terms of the chassis, and I cannot wait to try new settings at Suzuka Circuit. The Suzuka 8 Hours is a home race for both the team and Honda. That is why I am really excited for this race, and I want to do a good job.
John McPhee (United Kingdom, 31 years old)
I am very excited to compete in the Suzuka 8 Hours for the first time. It is a race I have always wanted to take part in, and going to Suzuka as a member of F.C.C. TSR Honda France is something special. The circuit is truly fantastic, but at the same time, I can feel how difficult it is. That is why I am very happy to be able to test before the race. I am also looking forward to meeting the Japanese fans, and I cannot wait to start riding as soon as possible.
#88 Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo
Nakarin Atiratphuvapat (Thailand, 30 years old)
This will be my fourth year competing in the Suzuka 8 Hours, and I am proud that the team continues to place its trust in me. This race excites me, but at the same time, it is one of the most demanding and difficult events in the world. I want to share my experience with our new riders, Adenanta and Pawi, and move forward together. This year, our goal is to qualify in the top 10, advance to the Superpole, and aim for a top-five finish in the race. I am grateful to the team for giving me this opportunity. I will prepare fully for the challenge.
Md. Adenanta Putra (Indonesia, 22 years old)
I am very honored to compete as a member of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo in the Suzuka 8 Hours, one of the world’s most prestigious endurance races. I am sincerely grateful to the team for giving me this opportunity. Although I will be competing as a rookie, I will prepare fully for this demanding race in every aspect—physically, mentally, and in my riding. My goal is to deliver a consistent performance for the team and ultimately fight for the podium.
Khairul Idham Pawi (Malaysia, 27 years old)
