HRC and Joan Mir agree to contract renewal

TOKYO, Japan, July 26, 2024 - Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and FIM*1 Grand Prix World Championship MotoGP class, Repsol Honda Team rider Joan Mir (Spain, 26 years old) have agreed to extend their contract for two years beginning in 2025.

Joan Mir began full-time participation in the FIM Grand Prix World Championship Moto3 class in 2016, and won the championship in the following season with 10 wins. In 2018 he moved up to the Moto2 class, and in 2019 the premier MotoGP class in which he won the championship in 2020.
Since 2023, Mir has been racing in the premier class with Repsol Honda Team, 12 victories and 33 podiums in his Grand Prix career*2.

In the 2025 season, HRC will be represented by Joan Mir and Luca Marini (Italy, 26 years old) along with test riders, Stefan Bradl (Germany, 34 years old) and newly joined Aleix Espargaró (Spain, 34 years old).
