Honda Sets First Half of Fiscal Year Records for Automobile Production Worldwide, Overseas, in Asia and China

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the first half of the current fiscal year (April 2018-March 2019) and the month of September 2018.

Production in Japan for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive year (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017).
Production in regions outside of Japan for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the seventh consecutive year (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013), setting record high production for first half of fiscal years. This includes record high production in Asia, and China.
Production worldwide for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the seventh consecutive year (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013), setting record high production for the first half of fiscal year.
September 2018
Production in Japan for the month of September 2018 experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since July 2018).
Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive month (since August 2018).
Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive month (since August 2018).

Total Japan domestic market auto sales for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the second consecutive year (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2018).
New vehicle registrations for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in two years (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017).
Sales of mini-vehicles for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the second consecutive year (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2018).
September 2018
Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of September 2018 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in eight months (since January 2018).
New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year decrease for the third consecutive month (since July 2018).
Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in eight months (since January 2018).

FREED was the industry’s sixth best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of September 2018 with sales of 8,090 units. FIT was the industry’s eighth best-selling car with sales of 7,310 units.
<Mini-vehicles - under 660cc>
N-BOX was the industry’s top-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of September 2018 with sales of 22,540 units. N-WGN was the industry’s eighth best-selling car with sales of 7,256 units.
