ORLANDO, Fla. — Oct. 31, 2016 — Honda Aircraft Company today announced that it has expanded sales of the HondaJet to Middle Americas with the appointment of SYI Aviation, based in Panama City, Panama as the newest HondaJet dealer. SYI Aviation will provide sales, service and support for the world’s most advanced light jet throughout Central America, the Caribbean and South America, including Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.

“Our well-received expansion in Brazil last year further solidified the Middle America and South American regions as potential growth markets, and for that reason we appointed SYI Aviation as our HondaJet dealer. With its strong focus on outstanding quality and customer service, SYI will be a valuable addition to the HondaJet dealer network,” said Honda Aircraft President and CEO Michimasa Fujino. “Their experience in the region and track record of partnering successfully with large global companies is a good foundation for a strong relationship with Honda Aircraft.”

The high speed, superior fuel efficiency and range of the HondaJet will enable it to create unique value within the region’s geography. Honda Aircraft Company has received a strong early response to the HondaJet by customers.

SYI was founded in 1928 in Caracas, Venezuela, and established operations in Panama in 1928. SYI provides infrastructure, products and equipment in the medical services, machinery and heavy equipment industry, as well as infrastructure for electric service in more than eight countries.

“Like Honda Aircraft Company, we are always looking ‘to the skies’ for new ways to develop enduring business growth and partnering as a dealer with Honda Aircraft is yet another way to expand our business portfolio,” said Mitsuru Yazawa, SYI Aviation president. “One of our core company values is strong customer service and we are excited to continue that exceptional service by representing the HondaJet in the Middle Americas.

The HondaJet recently completed a successful demonstration tour in Latin America and South America. Flights were conducted in four countries, traveling more than 14,000 nautical miles. The HondaJet was on static display at Latin America’s largest business aviation event, the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LABACE), held in São Paulo, Brazil. The demonstration tour included stops in: Brazil (Curitiba, São Paulo, Goiania, Cuiaba, and Belo Horizonte), Argentina, Chile and Panama.

Honda Aircraft Company has established a worldwide dealer network to provide unsurpassed service and support for HondaJet customers. With this addition, the HondaJet dealer network spans 12 territories in North America, South America and Europe. The company began customer deliveries in 2015.
