Honda Sets Monthly Records for Automobile Production Worldwide, Overseas, in North America, Asia and China for the First Half of FY2015

October 27, 2014 – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japanese domestic sales, and export results for the first half of the current fiscal year (April-September 2014) and the month of September 2014.

Production in Japan for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in two years (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013).

Production in regions outside of Japan for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive year (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013), setting record high production for the first half of any fiscal years. This includes record high production in North America, Asia, and China.

Production worldwide for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive year (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013), setting record high production for the first half of any fiscal years.

September 2014
Production in Japan for the month of September 2014 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the 2nd consecutive month (since August 2014).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the eighth consecutive month (since February 2014), setting record high production for the month of September. This includes record high production for the month of September in North America and USA.

Production worldwide experienced a year-on-year increase for the 14th consecutive month (since August 2013), setting record high production for the month of September.

Total Japan domestic market auto sales for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in two years (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013).

New vehicle registrations for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in two years (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013).

Sales of mini-vehicles for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in three years (since the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012).

September 2014
Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of September 2014 experienced a year-on-year increase for the 14th consecutive month (since August 2013).

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the 13th consecutive month (since September 2013).

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year decrease for the third consecutive month (since July 2014).

Fit was industry's second best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of September 2014 with sales of 17,763 units. VEZEL was the industry’s fifth best-selling car with sales of 10,603 units.

<Mini vehicles - under 660cc>
N-BOX was the industry’s second best-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of September 2014 with sales of 17,077 units. N-WGN was the industry’s forth best-selling car with sales of 13,283 units.
