Corporate

July 10th, 2014 - The TOMODACHI Initiative and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. ("Honda") are pleased to announce the "TOMODACHI Honda Cultural Exchange Program." Fully funded by Honda, this program will be implemented for a three-year period between 2015 and 2017. In 2015, this program is planning to send 15 Japanese high school students from the disaster-affected prefecture of Miyagi to Los Angeles, California for a two week exchange program from December 25th 2014 to January 8th, 2015.

In 2015, this program will showcase Honda's unique way of supporting the education and development for the future leaders for the Japan-U.S. relationship with an experiential learning program with the theme, Music as a Universal Language. Guided by Honda's corporate slogan "The Power of Dreams," the three-year partnership will help forge friendship and deepen understanding between the people in the U.S. and Japan while giving renewed hope for the future to young people from the disaster-hit Tohoku, North Eastern region of Japan.

In addition to the homestays in the U.S. and other cultural experiences, the students from the TOMODACHI Initiative will have the exceptional experience of participating in an iconic American New Year's tradition, the historic Rose Parade sponsored by American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

Interested students are encouraged to apply for this program via the link below or send an application by mail to the following address. The due date for application is August 24th, 2014. The participants will be finalized by September 12th, 2014.
