May 29, 2014 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the month of April 2014.

Production in Japan for the month of April 2014 experienced a year-on-year increase for the eighth consecutive month (since September 2013).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since February 2014), setting record high production for the month of April. This includes high production for the month of April in Asia and China.

Production worldwide experienced a year-on-year increase for the ninth consecutive month (since August 2013), setting record high production for the month of April.

Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of April 2014 experienced a year-on-year increase for the ninth consecutive month (since August 2013).

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the eighth consecutive month (since September 2013).

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in 28 months.

Fit was the industry’s top selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of April 2014 with sales of 15,621 units. VEZEL was the industry’s sixth best-selling car with sales of 7,959 units.

<Mini-vehicles - under 660cc>
N-BOX was the industry’s third best-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of April 2014 with sales of 11,620 units. N-WGN was the industry’s 10th best-selling car with sales of 6,558 units.
