Honda Sets All-Time Fiscal Year Records for Automobile Production Worldwide, Outside of Japan, in North America, and Asia

April 24, 2013 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013 as well as for the month of March 2013.

March 2013
Production in Japan for the month of March 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fourth consecutive month (since December 2012).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the 14th consecutive month (since February 2012), setting an all-time monthly record. This includes an all-time monthly record for production in Asia.

Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive month (since February 2013).

N BOX was the industry's top selling car among mini-vehicles for the Fiscal Year 2013, with sales 236,296 units. N-ONE was the industry's eighth best-selling car with sales of 55,309 units.

Honda's automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of March 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the third consecutive month (since January 2013).

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year decrease for the eighth consecutive month (since August 2012).

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the 15th consecutive month (since January 2012).

Fit was the industry's fourth best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of March 2013 with sales of 20,327 units. Freed was the industry's ninth best-selling car with sales of 10,403 units. STEP WGN was the industry's 10th best-selling car with sales of 9,045 units.

N BOX was the industry's second best-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of March 2013 with sales of 26,696 units. N-ONE was the industry's fifth best-selling car with sales of 16,135 units.
