Honda Provides Aid to Victims of Flooding in Thailand

October 20, 2011 - Honda would like to express its deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims of the flooding in Thailand. To support the impacted areas, the Honda group companies will provide approximately 280 million yen toward the relief and recovery efforts.

 Honda Motor Co., Ltd.: 30 million yen
 Honda Group companies in Thailand: 100 million baht
 (Approximately 250 million yen at the exchange rate of 1 baht = 2.5 yen)

The Honda Group in Thailand also has donated through Thai government 200 sets of Honda GX160 engine and kit to small boats.

"Honda has been doing business in Thailand for 47 years, and we have long appreciated and valued the support and hard work of the people of Thailand. We are also very grateful for the tremendous support the people of Thailand provided to Japan following the major earthquake that struck the eastern part of Japan in March of this year. We would like to provide support and our wishes for the earliest possible relief and recovery in Thailand," said Hiroshi Kobayashi, the managing officer and chief operating officer of regional operations (Asia & Oceania) of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

Honda is planning to donate pumps, high-pressure water sprayers, generators, and other relief goods depending on the future situation in the impacted areas.
