Corporate

The following is an update on the effects of the recent earthquake in Niigata prefecture on Honda's production activities.

Further to yesterday’s announcement to suspend production at Suzuka Automobile Plant on July 20, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has decided to suspend production at the following factories on July 23;

<Automobile Production>
  Suzuka Factory and Saitama Factory of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
  Yokkaichi Factory of Yachiyo Industry Co., Ltd.
<Motorcycle Production>
  Hamamatsu Factory

< Mini-Vehicle Engine Production >
  Kumamoto Factory

These planned production halts have arisen mainly as a result of production disruption at Kashiwazaki Factory of Riken Corp. located in Kashiwazaki, Niigata prefecture, which is the main supplier of piston-rings and other parts.
Further situation beyond July 24 will depend on when Riken can resume production and other conditions in the area damaged by the earthquake. Honda will keep you updated.
