Hondalntroduces Its "New Domani"_Sedan

Tokyo, January 30, 1997 -- Honda Motor Co., Lt d. introduces today it s New
Domani, a model that was desig ned to provide sta ndards of perf ormance and
qual ity usuall y associated wit h cars belon gi ng to categories above it s class. This
New Domani wil be available at Honda Cl io dealers nati onwide starti ng
January 31, 1997.
This New Domani combines the comfo rt and atmosphere of a more expensive
car wit h advanced technology like the hig h perf ormance yet fr ugal 1.6 lit er
VTEC-E engi ne, or the conti nuousl y variable, stepless "Honda Multi -Mati c"
automati c transmission. This model boasts a world sta ndard bearing all-round
safety body as well as dr iver and passenger side SRS airba g systems
throughout the model ran ge. All cars also feature a standard air-cond iti oning
system for fur ther increased value for money.

Continuing and further improving on the previous generation's "Family
Sedan Best Fiting the Japanese Automobile Environment'', the development
concept for this second generation New Domani was summarized into "High
Grade, Classy Sedan". To this end, the "one class above" theme was translated
into:
1) An elegan t, high quality exterior suiting a refined four door sedan.
2) A sophisticated interior featuring ample room together with low noise, and
high comfort levels.
3) Exhilaraitngp erformance, all the more because ti ist ob e an everydayc .ra
4) A structural review leading to world-standard safety and pro-active
environmentp roteciton.

Engine
● 1.6 liter VTEC-E (16X)
Honda's unique variable valve timing and lift electronic control
system was adopted to combine flexibility and high performance with
outstanding fuel consumption.

combustion even with a very lean mixture for class-leading fuel
consumption.

Combining Honda's continuously variable, shock-less automatic

Honda Navigation System
A high performance hybrid navigation system combining both GPS and
gyro sensor location systems is available as an option on all 1600cc
models.
Thisi nformaiton and entertainmentsy stemi ncludes the following
