At CEATEC JAPAN 2017, held at Makuhari Messe on October 3 - 6, Honda exhibited the Mobile Power Pack system, consisting of a swappable, portable battery and its charging / discharging devices, among other products, with the theme of “Smart Energy Storage Management.” Honda proposed a system of low-carbon and efficient energy use and utilization by storing energy created by the power of nature and extracting and using it when needed.

Honda exhibited a communication robot concept model at CES 2018, held on January 9 - 12, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Honda also displayed the Mobile Power Pack, a swappable, portable battery that provides energy to robotic devices and mobility, enabling the use of electricity when and where it is needed, and a platform that utilizes the battery.

On April 1, 2022, Honda along with ENEOS, Kawasaki Motors, Suzuki Motor Corporation and Yamaha Motor established Gachaco, Inc. to provide sharing service of standardized swappable batteries for electric motorcycles and develop the associated infrastructure, and began the service in October that year.
