The Honda AWV has been field-tested in harsh environments such as the construction site of a large-scale solar power plants in southwestern area of North America. It is an electric mobility vehicle that can autonomously travel along a predetermined route and transport up to 2000 lbs. (907 kg) of construction equipment, materials, water, and other supplies at speeds up to 10mph (16 km/h).

Honda AWV employs a suite of sensors to operate autonomously, including GPS for location and radar and lidar for obstacle detection.
