About ITS World Congress
The ITS World Congress is an annual global conference jointly held through collaboration by organizations from Europe, North America, and Asia involved in intelligent transport systems (ITS). Comprised of symposiums, exhibitions, showcases, and other programs, this event brings together representatives from industry, government, and academia across various countries to exchange information from a broad range of perspectives, including technology development, policies, and market trends. It aims to address traffic problems and create business opportunities through the widespread adoption of ITS.
The theme of the event in FY2026 held in South Korea was “Beyond Mobility, Connected World.” Honda R&D Co., Ltd. exhibited our latest research achievements in the Honda booth.

Exhibition Overview
SAFETY Zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles
Next-Generation ADAS(Driver Assistance Technology Centered on Route Guidance)
Honda is developing next-generation ADAS technology based on an E2E architecture in which AI seamlessly handles everything from environmental perception and decision-making to vehicle control. It provides advanced driver assistance in a wide range of scenarios, from surface roads to expressways. Honda plans to deploy this technology broadly across its core models.
CI* Driving Assistance That Predicts Risks to Encourage Safe Behavior
This driving assistance technology uses AI to predict accident risks from front and rear camera images and estimates the driver's cognitive state and other high-risk states with a rear in-cabin camera. By identifying the possibility of accidents early and in an integrated manner, it encourages safe behavior and prevents accidents before they occur.
*CI:Cooperative Intelligence
Safe and Sound Network Technology
By digitally consolidating the status and characteristics of all road users—including pedestrians, motorcycles, and automobiles—via communication networks, this system comprehensively evaluates risk. Interactive AI feedback fosters understanding of potential hazards, enabling users to proactively avoid risks roughly 10 seconds in advance.
Cabinet Office SIP Phase 3 Tsukuba Large-Scale Demonstration (September - December 2025)
Multi-Agent Simulation Technology to Reproduce and Evaluate Interactions Between People and Vehicles
This technology models the underlying principles of driving behavior from countries around the world, including the ASEAN region. It represents each traffic participant as an autonomous agent equipped with models for perception, decision-making, and vehicle control, faithfully recreating their behaviors within a virtual environment.
By entering this virtual space through a simulator, users can recreate complex accident scenarios and evaluate the effectiveness of driver assistance systems in high-risk situations that cannot safely be tested on public roads.
Multi-Agent Evaluation Environment for a Safety Support System for Reducing Motorcycle Accidents
We have established a validation environment that connects real-world safety assistance systems directly to a multi-agent traffic simulator without requiring any modifications to the safety systems, enabling evaluation through hands-on driving within the virtual space.
Safety Technology Demonstration in Wako City, Saitama Prefecture
A technical demonstration of a Safety and Security Network (including automated driving integration) and CI Driving Support will be conducted under everyday conditions in FY2026–FY2027, involving a total of 300 participants from Honda, Wako City Hall, and local stakeholders. The project will evaluate their effectiveness and social acceptance toward social implementation in the 2020s.
Utilization of Vehicle Data Towards Zero Traffic Accident Fatalities
This technology analyzes driving data collected from mass-production vehicles equipped with connected services to estimate road surface degradation. Without the need for specialized equipment or manual labor, it enables smart, low-cost road management with timely and comprehensive coverage, supporting sustainable infrastructure maintenance.
ENVIRONMENT Carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities
Honda WN7
Honda has developed its first electric naked motorcycle, the Honda WN7. Based on the concept of “Be the Wind,” the WN7 refines the fundamental elements of motorcycle performance, namely running, turning, and stopping, while seamlessly fusing them with the quietness that is unique to electric motorcycles. It also features a refined functional design together with the convenience of both CCS2 fast charging and home charging.
