Evolution and Variants of the CB1100 2014–2021

While inheriting the tradition of the CB series, the CB1100 continued to evolve with new technologies. Since its debut in Japan in 2010, the model underwent a series of refinements with each update, to the final model in 2021.
2014: Birth of the CB1100 EX
In 2014, the transmission was upgraded from five-speed to six-speed, improving both fuel efficiency and quietness in high-speed.
A new CB1100 EX variant was added, featuring twin exhaust mufflers on both sides and wire-spoke wheels, further enhancing its traditional appeal.
2017: Three variants
In 2017, Honda introduced the CB1100 RS, a model developed for riders seeking sportier performance.
It adopted 17-inch wheels front and rear, a newly designed aluminum swingarm, and dedicated suspension components for enhanced handling.
With the CB1100, CB1100 EX, and CB1100 RS, the lineup now offered three distinct variations, broadening rider choice.
That same year, the CB1100 EX underwent further refinement, adopting lightweight aluminum rims and smaller-diameter hubs, achieving a 5 kg reduction compared with the previous model. Its flangeless fuel tank, shared with the RS, featured an elegant, seamless design finished with high-quality paintwork, enhancing the joy of ownership.
Meanwhile, the standard CB1100 switched from the previous single right-side muffler to twin exhausts on both sides, similar to the EX and RS, giving it a more classic look.

2021: The Final Model
In October 2021, Honda announced the final editions of the CB1100 series. The CB1100 EX and CB1100 RS each received exclusive colors available only during a limited reservation period.
Since its 2010 debut, the CB1100 had been loved by a broad range of riders for its timeless road sport styling, refined craftsmanship, and beautifully sculpted air-cooled engine.
However, due to stricter emission regulations, the CB1100 concluded its 11-year history in 2021.
