Toward a Collision-free Society
Honda's vision of a collision-free society is one in which all people can move freely guided by their curiosity, with a sense of security and peace of mind.
In April 2021, Honda announced its goal of achieving zero fatalities in traffic accidents involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles worldwide by 2050.

Aiming for Zero Traffic Collision Fatalities Involving Honda Motorcycles and Automobiles Worldwide by 2050
Honda aims to achieve zero fatalities in traffic collision involving Honda automobiles and motorcycles worldwide by 2050.*1 As a milestone, it aims to halve the number of traffic collision fatalities involving Honda automobiles and motorcycles worldwide by 2030.*2 These targets apply not only to new vehicles, but also to all Honda motorcycles and automobiles currently on the market.
- Traffic accidents involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles: Traffic accidents involving Honda motorcyclists and automobile riders, as well as pedestrians and bicyclists (i.e., all traffic participants, except for intentional and malicious violators of the rules, and persons who are incapable of fulfilling their responsibilities)

Direction
Honda safety initiatives will address traffic collision caused by various factors, by evolving and combining the three elements of safety: human ability (through awareness-raising), mobility performance (through technology development) and traffic ecosystem (collaboration with others and system/service development).
Human Ability
Honda believes that its awareness raising activities need to enhance human ability, such as driving skills to psychological and mental aspects, cognition, judgement, and compassion and manners towards others, for all people involved in traffic society.
Honda will build upon its existing principles of “safety handed down from person to person” and “participatory experiential education” to evolve into awareness-building optimized to individual awareness, experience levels and physical capabilities.
Mobility Performance
Honda believes that in order to enhance the safety of mobility, complementing or extending human capabilities, such as supporting communication with everyone sharing the road, is vital in addition to protecting passengers and pedestrians and avoiding collisions. Honda, as a leader in safety technology with a Human-Centric Thinking, will continue to evolve its technological development to gain an even deeper understanding of people and to be more closely attuned to their wishes.
Traffic Ecosystem
In a traffic environment that is constantly changing due to traffic congestion and accidents, landslides and icy roads, Honda believes that preventing accidents requires a dynamic understanding of the aspects of the traffic ecosystem, consisting of infrastructure and traffic participants, and the smooth coordination between these entities is vital.
To this end, Honda will actively participate in research and development, cooperation with national and local governments, and co-create with partner companies.
