Tokyo, February 2, 1999 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that its former President and CEO, Nobuhiko Kawamoto, would receive the award of Commander of the Order of the Crown of Belgium from His Majesty the King of Belgium.
Kawamoto, presently Advisor and member of the Board of Directors of Honda, was informed of the decoration by a letter from His Excellency Gustaaf Dierckx, Belgian Ambassador to Japan.

The letter noted Kawamoto's contributions to Japanese-Belgian relations.

A formal ceremony to bestow this decoration will be held at the Belgian Ambassador's official residence in Tokyo on March 19.

Kawamoto said, "I am very honored to receive this award and wish to thank all my colleagues who have and continue to work toward improving relations between Belgium and Japan."
