Honda Team Asia riders Ai Ogura and Kaito Toba finished the season-ending Valencia race in 10th and 13th respectively. Ogura finished 10th in the Championship in his rookie season. Honda Team Asia also achieved its best result in the Teams Championship, a well deserved 8th place.
Ai Ogura | Honda Team Asia (10th)
"We started the weekend badly, struggling a lot with the setup. I'm happy with my race because I started from back of the grid and I finished 10th. Also, I finished 10th in the championship. I think that is not bad for a rookie, but to be strong for 2020 I need something more. We must find this during the winter tests, to be ready for the first race in Qatar."
Kaito Toba | Honda Team Asia (13th)
"The weather conditions didn't help me this weekend, and after a bad qualifying session, I started the race from the back. My aim was only to finish the race. 13th is not the best result, but I'm happy to finish my last race with this team. I'm disappointed with the results of the season because we started very well in Qatar. I would like to thank the team, Honda and all the people who supported me."
Hiroshi Aoyama | Team Manager, Honda Team Asia
"A very critical race here in Valencia, where many things happened. It was like a survival race. Our riders started from the back of the grid, but they kept on fighting, pushing every single lap and gaining many positions to finish 10th and 13th, which is quite impressive. Of course we wanted to finish on the podium, but it wasn't our weekend. I think they made the best effort they could, which I appreciate. I am also grateful for the dedication of all our staff, everybody did their best, and finally, that led us to 8th overall in the Teams Championship, our best result ever. We are pleased with how we finished the season."
