Dimas Ekky Pratama to Miss the German GP

IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia's Dimas Ekky Pratama is not fully recovered after a head concussion suffered last week in Assen. Both the team and the rider decided that it was best for him to miss the German Grand Prix and to return in Brno.

The 26-year-old Indonesian rider took part in FP1, but after three laps he did not feel well, and had impaired vision. The safest option in this case was to stop, avoiding unnecessary risks.

Hiroshi Aoyama | Team Manager, IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia

“We are sorry for Dimas. He's not as fit as we thought. I understand that if his feeling is not good, he must stop, we believe that safety should be put first. We are very sad with this situation; all the team did a big effort to be here but he's not able to ride. It's a very stressful situation but it's not Dimas` fault.”

“I'm very disappointed but I cannot race in Sachsenring. I tested some laps on the bike but I had a strange feeling in the eyes, I cannot focus 100% in some corners. I wanted to race here because it is a new track for me. I've lost two races in a row, but the team says that we need to be smart and to wait for Brno.”
