Assisting safe driving by displaying traffic signs
The Traffic Sign Recognition System urges the driver to take care by recognizing traffic signs while driving and displaying the information on the instrument panel or on a head-up display.
A camera recognizes traffic signs and the system provides timely notification of information displayed, such as a speed limit, or warnings of “Stop,” “No protruding into the oncoming lane to overtake” or “No entry.”
How it works

*The speed limit display disappears when:
・The vehicle travels a set distance (between several hundred meters and thousands kilometers) past the speed limit sign as predetermined for the type of sign; or
・The vehicle turns at an intersection using a turn signal.
*The stop sign display disappears when:
・The vehicle travels past the stop sign; or
・The vehicle turns at an intersection using a turn signal.
*The stop sign display functions when the user’s vehicle is traveling at approx. 60 km/h or slower.
*The “No protruding into the oncoming lane to overtake” sign display disappears when:
・The vehicle travels a set distance (between several hundred meters and thousands kilometers) past the “No protruding into the oncoming lane to overtake” sign as predetermined for the type of sign ; or
・The vehicle turns at an intersection using a turn signal.
*The “No entry” sign display disappears when:
・The vehicle travels past the sign without entering the road marked “No entry”; or
・The vehicle turns at an intersection using a turn signal.
*The “No entry” sign display functions when the user’s vehicle is traveling at approx. 60 km/h or slower.
The individual functions of the driver-assistive system have limited capabilities (e.g. recognition capability and control capability). Please do not overestimate the capabilities of any function and drive safely while paying constant attention to the vehicle’s surroundings. A system may not work or perform adequately depending on road conditions, weather conditions and vehicle conditions.
Function is not installed in some areas.
