Ceremony Celebrating 100 Million Super Cubs

The ceremony was preceded by a photo session with Honda President and CEO Takahiro Hachigo and the Super Cub.
October 19, 2017 - A ceremony held at Honda’s Kumamoto Factory marked the worldwide production of the Super Cub series’ 100 millionth unit. Honda President and CEO Takahiro Hachigo rode onto stage on a Super Cub 110 adorned with a special logo for the occasion. “The Cub was first released in 1958, a year before I was born,” Hachigo said. “I am thrilled that we belong to the same generation, and I think it is a truly amazing model. My first encounter with the Cub was through a part-time job at the post office when I was in high school.”
The event was attended by many guests, including Japan Post, and Kumamoto Governor Kabashima who hoped there would be a Super Cub / Kumamon collaboration, similar to the “Kumamonkey,” a collaboration between Kumamon and the Honda Monkey. The event ended with participants calling out "I love motorcycles!
